The West Bengal Police is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. The other being the Kolkata Police, which has a separate jurisdiction across Kolkata.The West Bengal Police was reorganized under provisions of the Police Act 1861 during the British Raj.

WBP Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the West Bengal Police (WBP) recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education : Candidates must have passed the Madhyamik Examination or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.
Language : Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali. However, this requirement does not apply to permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
Age : The age limit for male constables is 18 to 27 years, and for lady constables it is 18 to 30 years.
Physical Standards : Candidates must meet certain physical standards, such as chest measurements, depending on their gender and category.
Other requirements
Candidates may also need to meet other requirements, such as:- Producing a revalidated or renewed OBC-A/OBC-B certificate
- Submitting a "No Objection Certificate" from the head of the office/disciplinary authority

WBP Salary
The salary of a West Bengal Police (WBP) officer depends on the rank of the position:
Constable: The monthly salary for a WBP Constable ranges from Rs 22,700 to Rs 58,500. The grade pay is Rs 2,600.
Sub-Inspector (SI): The basic pay for a WBP SI ranges from Rs 32,100 to Rs 82,900. The grade pay is Rs 3,900.
Village Police Volunteer: The daily remuneration for a WBP Village Police Volunteer is Rs 378.
