 The 'CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal' was launched on Tuesday for submission of valid claims by genuine depositors of four cooperative societies of Sahara Group.


The Sahara Refund Portal was formed to help around 2.5 crore people who have deposits up to Rs 30,000 in Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.

How to Use Sahara India Refund Portal?


 Depositors have to register themselves i.e. login to the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal. Aadhaar and mobile number and should be linked to each other.


People applying for refund amount have to provide details of payment receipt. Amit Shah said that the depositors will have to download the SEBI Sahara Refund Online Application Form 2023 and fill it and upload it on the portal.


 In March 2023, the Supreme Court ordered that Rs 5,000 crore be transferred from the 'Sahara-SEBI refund account' to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) for payment of legitimate dues of about 10 crore depositors.
